Here I am again to tell you about a book. It is not mine. It is someone else’s. I could never have written a book like this. I would never have written a book like this. But I could help someone else write it, and I did.
Galen Horst wrote Chance and Change out of a deep burden to share his family’s story, but more importantly, the things he believes in. Never having written a book before, he asked for some help, and I became one of the team that worked to bring this book to life.
Chance and Change is the story of a lively family whom I personally find endearing and interesting in real life (one of the reasons I agreed to join the project), and I think, I hope that they are endearing and interesting in the book.
The Horsts are a family who make a life-changing decision to abandon their new dream house and a steadily-growing business to move to a farm in the bush of eastern Ontario. They try their hand at homesteading and homeschooling and create a different life from what they had once planned. Then one day, everything changes again. In the face of devastating news, even the farm-life that has become their existence is no longer a constant. How much will they have to give up to get the help they need, and will the help be in time?
There. That’s my shot at promotional writing.
This is also a shot at marketing. I have never marketed anything, and I probably won’t make it a habit. By now, however, I am emotionally invested in doing everything I can to make this book a success. So, please, buy this book, read it, and if you like it, spread the word!
